Volunteer with Us!
Your talents, time and experience can make a huge difference in the life of an older or disabled adult living in Lower Merion or Narberth. Our volunteers provide rides to doctors' appointments and grocery stores and help with odd jobs, errands or yard work. Others visit clients in their homes to provide companionship and ease isolation, or to help go through mail or organize closets. Volunteers also help keep our food pantry stocked and running smoothly.
You decide how, and how often, to volunteer! Our on-line scheduling system makes it easy for our drivers to "claim" available rides from the comfort of your home. Interested? Please complete and submit our Volunteer Application, or contact Liz Hill by email email@example.com or phone at 610.525.0706.
These are Ways Volunteers Are Needed to Help Older Adults in Our Community!
Give the gift of a lift! Our clients need help getting to medical appointments, pharmacies and to the grocery store. Appointments are entered into our online scheduling system a week or more ahead of time, so you can choose rides that work with your schedule. It's easy and convenient, and means so much to our clients!
We are matchmakers here at ElderNet! You can become a client's friendly visitor, making regular visits to help with mail, go for a walk, organize a cupboard, or just have a chat. Other volunteers become a client's shopping match, shopping every other week with (or for) a client who needs help with this important task. These ways of volunteering help clients maintain their independence and ease isolation, enriching the lives of both client and volunteer.
Looking for a special service opportunity, for yourself or for a small group? Give us a call! You can volunteer on a one-time or regular basis to help an elderly neighbor with yard work--raking, trimming, planting, mulching, etc. Or maybe you'd like to help ElderNet with occasional mass mailings, or with our special holiday meal deliveries. We'd be happy to explore options with you!
Food security for our low-income clients is a priority here at ElderNet. Consider organizing a food drive at your school, faith community, or neighborhood organization to benefit our food pantry! Our volunteers also greet pantry shoppers, help organize and stock our shelves, and maintain our pantry garden.
We can find a use for your handyman skills or technical prowess! Help our clients with odd jobs like hanging pictures, changing lightbulbs, fixing screens, or programming telephones. These kinds of tasks are perfect for volunteers who might only be available on the weekends, and our clients are always appreciative!
