Job Description

The Assistant Pantry Coordinator will support the Pantry Coordinator as a key member of our team as we serve community members struggling with food insecurity. This position will help manage volunteers, food donations, and support the overall operations of the pantry. This position will also help to ensure that all community members in need of support find the assistance and resources they need.

POSITION: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

HOURS: Monday 9:00am – 11:00am; Tuesday and Thursday – 9:30am – 4:00pm


  • Support the Pantry Coordinator in all areas associated with the Community Resource Center & Food Pantry, including, but not limited to:
  • Ensure pantry shelves are well stocked with an assortment of food
  • Inform new shoppers of the resources offered in the center and refer shoppers to those resources, as needed
  • Manage the AniMeals program
  • Notify shoppers of the pantry guidelines and monitor compliance with said guidelines
  • Keep the resource center clean and organized
  • Manage volunteerism in the pantry
  • Coordinate donations from local individuals, businesses, and organizations
  • Manage ElderNet’s partnerships with external organizations, including Philabundance, Grocers Against Hunger, and local grocery stores
  • Create accurate monthly reports of pantry utilization and donations received
  • Receive and stock the weekly Philabundance delivery
  • Notify Pantry Coordinator of any urgent pantry related needs
  • Fill in for the Pantry Coordinator if/when the Pantry Coordinator is not on site
  • Other duties as assigned by the Pantry Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Pantry Coordinator


  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office setting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of local communities and resources a plus
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and accept change in a fast paced environment
  • Motivated to work with, and on behalf of, frail older participants and volunteers
  • Valid PA Driver’s License
  • Able to sit, bend, walk, and assist participants for extensive periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
